Through meeting parents and young people over the years, the parish team realise
that there are more and more demands on parents, so much so that raising a child can be
daunting and a lonely experience for some. Parents have to make so many difficult decisions
concerning their teenage Son/ daughter. Bullying and low self-esteem is on the rise amongst
teenagers, not to mention depression and sadly suicide.
The course is made up of 5 weekly sessions. The series is delivered through a series of DVD’s
Many people have discovered that discussing their experiences with fellow parents in a small group is one of the great benefits of the course. The aim of the series is to provide a space for you as parents to listen/ talk to other parents as you navigate through the teenage years.
The series is designed for those parenting eleven to eighteen year olds, whether you
consider yourself to have strong parenting skills or are struggling, and whether you are
parenting as a couple, as a single parent or as a step parent. Parents can come alone or as a
couple.
